    The
    ultimate
    C6 Z06! This is my 3rd Z06. So when I began my search for Z06 number three I wanted to find the ultimate version of this model with no regard to cost.
    I searched for a year until I found what I was looking for.
    The Basics
    :
    This is the last year of production for the lightweight C6 Z06 platform.
    It is the last Z06 platform for a naturally aspirated, high-revving, large displacement engine.
    The 505 horsepower LS-7 427 cubic-inch
    all-aluminum V-8 is an American exotic.
    Chevrolet will never build a lightweight, large engine sports car like this again.

    The Options: Part I
    This Z06 is a 60th A
    nniversary Edition.
    All 2013 Corvettes have badges that say "60 Years". That alone does not make the car a 60th Anniversary
    Edition. But this Z06 has the optional 25 60th Anniversary Design & Stripe Package. This includes the Arctic White exterior paint with Silver Blue Metallic stripes on all top surfaces of the car. The stripes look silver from a distance but have a very cool Blue Metallic hue when seen up close. But wait, there is more to this package! This car also includes the optional ,860 3LZ premium interior upgrade in
    Diamond Blue
    !! This includes a double stitched leather interior (with medium blue stitching), heated and power bolster/lumber leather seats with driver memory, power telescoping steering wheel, power heated auto-dimming outside mirrors

    The History: Part I
    Here is where I to explain how this Corvette was born. First off - it is serial #00001!
    Yes, that is correct - it was the first Z06 built for model year 2013.
    It was the brochure photo-shoot car representing the 60th Anniversary Z06 in the 2013 Corvette brochure (an origional brochure comes with the car). It also made the rounds for other press events and important 2013 model introductions. I have the original window sticker (laminated for permanent protection). It shows the car was built in Bowling Green, KY (the birthplace of all modern Corvettes). But here is where it gets interesting: In the area on the window sticker that shows what Chevrolet dealership the car was sold/shipped to is instead the Detroit address for GM headquarters.

    * Cyber Gray Metallic Headlight Color Override - Most people don't even know what this hard to find option is about. Standard C6 Corvette trim means the headlight bezels are painted the color of the car (a white car would have white headlight trim). This upgrade means that the factory installed headlight bezels were painted Cyber Gray Metallic before the headlights were assembled -
    they
    look much more menacing and a great compliment to the gray body stripes and gray Brembo brake calipers. 0

    Additionally, since this car has the Brembo Ceramic Rotors, the Carbon Fiber Package AND the Carbon Fiber Hood it is very light. I had it weighed on digital scales ---> total wight with 3/4 tank of fuel = 3,364 lbs!
    Upgrades:
    I have done many highly desirable upgrades and improvements to this car. I am a 25+ year ASE Master Auto Technician with extensive experience building and modifying high performance automobiles
    . Remember, I have owned this car since it was practically new - it had only 140 miles on it. Short of the
    dyno
    tuning, a performance alignment and the paint protection film install, NOBODY touches this car but me
    . Everything I have done was with the intent of keeping in the spirit of this lightweight, high horsepower, American sports car & muscle machine.

    The ENTIRE body of this Z06 has been
    wrapped
    in SunTek Ultra paint protection film!! Everything (except the windows) has been covered in protection - from headlights to the taillights. The paint was highly polished before the paint protection film was installed - and all of this was done when the car had less than 200 miles on it. One cool detail: All of the stripes are decals that were installed at the factory. Once the high-gloss paint protection
    film was applied; it is similar to painting a glossy clear coat on top of the stripes - no more sharp edges plus complete protection for the stripes! 50

    This is another big one
    : I installed the finest, highest quality exhaust headers money can buy. They are 306 stainless steel, long tube American Racing headers and X-pipe, along with their optional high-flow catalytic converters. Everyone knows that the 427 cubic inch LS-7 really wakes up with the addition of long tube headers. They are good for an extra 30-35 horsepower. When combined with an open element type air filter and a good dyne tune, the package is good for approximately 50 additional horsepower! And the
    sound
    - I'll get to that in a minute! Once purchased, I shipped the headers and X-pipe to Jet Hot Coatings to be CERAMIC coated. I also paid for their optional titanium color upgrade as real Ceramic coating is a whitish color. The titanium makes the headers look like a factory installed part. During the header install, I also installed a much thicker (and insulated) chassis tunnel plate. I also insulated all of the 02 sensor wiring, starter
    wiring, dry-sump oil tank return lines and the body tunnel. I also installed
    red
    Cool Sox spark plug wire protectors. All insulation products were installed using stainless-steel zipties. About 35 hours total labor and all done at a
    very high level
    .

    About the sound
    : This Z06 utilizes the factory NPP (dual mode mufflers). Normally they are as quiet as a kitten until engine speed exceeds 4,000 rpm's. At 4,000 rpm's the mufflers go into sport mode and with the headers, the car sounds AMAZING. It truly has to be experienced in person. But it gets better: I also installed a hidden switch that when turned on allows the muffler to be in sport mode at idle & engine speeds under 4,000 rpm. In the mode the car sounds AMAZING all the time. Starting the car early in the morning and don't want to wake the neighbors or want to do a long freeway cruise in complete silence? No problem: just switch it back to the NPP quiet mode.

    At the same time I installed the headers, I also installed a K&N performance intake system with high-flow air filter. 0

    I
    also installed a set of NGK Iridium spark plugs and a cooler GM engine thermostat during the header installation. 5

    After the header installation I had the car
    dyno-tuned by one of the most respected LS-7 tuners in the country. 0
    *
    The car runs smooth and flawless. It pulls like a freight train. I am an adult in my 50's and have owned many high-performance autos. This car is driven with respect.
    Engine oil is always brought up to the proper temperature before engine speed goes over 2500 rpm's.
    * I had a high-performance
    four-wheel
    alignment performed by a well known alignment shop that has vast chassis experience with the C6 platform.
    We also weighed the car at that time. 0
    *
    I replaced the standard fog light bulbs with high quality Corvette specific (Corvette Lights.com) ultra-high output LED bulb's. Then I used a yellow tint film over the fog light lenses. I like the look of 24 hour endurance race cars and their
    nighttime lighting. This nailed the look - the reflectors are yellow when the lights are off. When the lights are on (and you can run the fog lights on the Z06 during the day with the headlights off) they are a piercing yellow beam! 0
    * The side and rear windows have been tinted using premium Llumar film. They are a medium darkness - NOT overly dark.
    * There are Weathertech protective floor coverings for the driver/passenger floor AND the rear hatch area. There are also (clear) protection covers for the door sill areas. 0
    * All
    wheel lug nuts were replaced the a Gorilla locking lug nut system. The lug nuts look lake originals but are splined and cannot be removed unless using the Gorilla key. 0
    * There is a ProClip Corvette
    specific cell phone mount.
    Maintenance
    * I am fanatical about maintenance. Every single fluid in this Corvette has been changed. That includes the coolant, transmission oil, differential oil, brake fluid,
    power
    steering fluid and clutch fluid. All with premium lubricants and all fully documented.
    * The engine oil & filter has been changed at: 475 miles, 1580 miles, 2575 miles & 3650 miles. I always use Mobil 1 0-40 weight high-zinc engine oil and GM Ultra-guard oil filter.
    * I also installed magnetic drain plugs on the engine oil drain, the transmission oil drain & the differential. All magnetic drain plugs are very powerful Gold Plugs.
    * The
    original
    tires were replaced @ 2235 miles with Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
    * The battery is approximately 3 years old and is maintained on a battery tender. I have done a custom installation of a battery charging port underneath the license plate area. No need to access the battery or even open the hood or hatch (see photos)!
    As you can see, NO expense was spared on any aspect of this rare Z06.         It looks, drives and smells like a new car. It runs & sounds better than any new C6 Z06 ever did. It is part sports car, part muscle car and ALL AMERICAN. It will turns heads wherever you take it and you are unlikely to ever see another.
