    Description
    1975 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
The 1975 Chevy Corvette, along with the automotive industry as a whole, would experience a significant transformation at the onset of the new model year. Because of serious health issues and environmental contamination associated with the use of lead fuel, it was determined that the automotive industry would and should phase it out. Tetraethyllead, (also known as TTL, or simply "lead"), was introduced in the 1920's as an additive to prevent fuel from auto-igniting in high compression internal combustion engines. While the lead additives allowed engine designers to produce more powerful, higher compression engines, it also produced a dangerous neurotoxin through exhaust emissions, which resulted in many cases of acute, and widespread lead poisoning, especially in children.
For consignment, a nice version of the 1975 C3 Corvette in all original form. A great entry level car to get you into the Corvette game, it's in good condition and provides a sporty ride, while with the emissions regulations kicking in horsepower was limited. But then you could save gas, and the environment!
    Exterior
Fiberglass bathed in burgundy paint is seen in its sculpted final form and does a great job of covering this rolling work of art. Noted are very slight paint repairs with some touch up paint which turned out just a smidge darker than the original color. A white contrasting canvas convertible top is on, and neoprene bumpers with hidden headlights in front, curvaceous fenders all around this coke bottle design pony car. On the back the rounded slightly pointed rear roll panel is one of this writer's favorite years and this retains the round deep set taillights. Chrome trimmings are seen surrounding the glass and adding some bling to the curved rockers. A cove is in the front quarter, and a more rounded look sans "flying buttress" B pillars, is achieved with the convertible top. 15-inch rally deep dish wheels are on all 4 corners and dual exhaust peek out from underneath the smoothed over rear bumper. Noted a trunk lid chrome luggage rack has been optioned on from the factory.
    Interior
As a nice contrast to the burgundy, medium saddle leather is wrapping the surfaces of the interior. High back buckets with a center console racing forward to the tan angled inward at the bottom molded dash. Deep set gauges front the original steering wheel, and in the dash center is a grouping of 5 gauges for monitoring the vitals. Tan/gold carpeting, very clean, floods the floors. Door panels use wood appliqu as well as some tan/gold carpeting that matches the floors. Noted the wood appliqu panels on the doors is like new, as is the remainder of the exterior and it's all original kids!
    Drivetrain
Opening the hood we are bowled over by the beautifully preserved and highly detailed orange/red GM block and valve covers of the numbers matching 350ci L48 V8 mill. Nicely detailed and presenting, it has some chromed bling added on. A single 4-barrel carburetor is atop, and on the back a TH350 3-speed automatic coupled with a 3.08 rear axle is showing.
    Undercarriage
Very nicely preserved underneath with an overall patina for the floor pans, rockers and other bolt ons underneath. In front, a bit of chip off of the paint on the bottom end of the engine, but no oiling and all dry as a bone for this section of the undercarriage. Full Independent SLA type with coil springs is the suspension and includes several cast aluminum components for extra weight loss. Power disc brakes are on all 4's.
    Drive-Ability
She fired right up and on the test track it performed beautifully. Nice smooth acceleration, smooth shifting and good brakes. It handles like it's on rails and the convertible option is a nice feature allowing full sun to shine in, and air to envelop the passengers when in forward motion.
A rounded rear version from 1975, in nice original condition, mechanically, a good solid interior, nicely cared for exterior. A great top down or up cruiser, here is your chance to get into the Corvette game. Is there a little bug getting ready to bite??? Bzzzzzzzzzzzz?!
