  • Condition: As a 52-year-old car that's almost totally original, this 1969 Corvette T-top Coupe is in excellent condition. This car shows very well, even as you get closer to it. The Monaco Orange paint is believed to be mostly original but has of course had a few touchups over the years. The finish is uniform and has a very nice shine. The chrome also shines beautifully, with few signs of age. Inside, the black upholstery is still supple and shows no drying, cracking, or seam splitting. The seat foam still provides good cushioning but does produce some fine foam dust which is sometimes visible. Dash vinyl is unmarked and shows no signs of cracking. The original carpeting is not frayed, snagged or stained and also presents very well. Mechanically, a history of careful, consistent maintenance and timely repairs should ensure plenty of carefree driving. Even upon close inspection, this Corvette defies its age and belies its originality!

    Description

Here's a beautifully preserved, low-mileage original that was single-family owned in San Diego for 47 years before it was acquired by its current owner in 2016.  The originality of this T-top coupe goes way beyond the usual engine/transmission "numbers matching" criteria.  It extends down to the individual part and component level, where it is believed that everything from the carburetor to the brake master cylinder to even the mufflers is absolutely correct from a factory part number, casting number and date-code perspective.  In other words, 52 years later, the parts and components are an exact match to those on the car when it left the showroom in 1969.  This was verified when this example passed the most stringent test for Corvette originality by winning a "Top Flight" Blue Ribbon award from the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS).
There's a lot more to this Corvette than just originality.  This is still a very fun car to drive, and everything works, including the A/C, so you can drive to the next show in comfort.  Once there, you can marvel at all the documentation still with the car, including the Protect-O-Plate, Warranty Card, tank sticker and more.  Heck, even the vintage, still-valid CA blue plates are still with the car!
With only 60,350 original miles, its described originality, nice options and excellent overall condition, experts say this car should be a very solid investment.  As the saying goes, "Its only original once!"
